The Art and Life of Edward Kwiatkowski

CircaNowGallery, formerly the Freedom Trails Gallery, is presenting the work of local Holyoke artist Edward Kwiatkowski. This exhibit was originally presented at the Holyoke Senior Center in the fall of 2014 as a memorial to Ed and his art, who passed away in January of 2014.

Edward Kwiatkowski began his study in art with the guidance of Mrs. Margaret Holt in 1954 at the Adults Art and Crafts Class of the United Cerebral Palsy Association in Springfield, MA. Born in 1936 with cerebral palsy, Ed had very limited use of his arms, but worked hard at making the most of his abilities like playing chess and checkers and discovering his artistic talent. With anonymous support, Ed attended the Cleveland Institute of Art (1968 to 1970) where he received a two-year scholarship and studied watercolor, design and life drawing.

Hours: Wed-Saturday 11-4pm

Reception: July 2, 2015 during Amherst Art Walk, 5-8pm
