Dear Friends and Supporters of Amherst Arts Night Plus,
Since March, when the coronavirus pandemic forced the closure of our art venues and businesses, Amherst Arts Night Plus immediately reimagined how to continue bringing the arts to you.
From April to August, in conjunction with Amherst Media, we compiled and broadcast digital cultural events that featured art exhibits, music, interviews, readings and conversation. In October, we brought together over 30 downtown Amherst businesses and more than 40 local artists who participated in “Windows into Art,” a three-week walkable window art exhibit.
During this time, some of our art venues also shifted to digital exhibits, window exhibits, limited gallery openings, and online events.
Now, as we move into the winter, the small committee that manages Amherst Arts Night Plus is taking a sabbatical to contemplate our next steps and re-envison Amherst Arts Night Plus for 2021.
However, just because we are on sabbatical doesn’t mean that Art in Amherst is. You can continue to view art in all its forms online and/or in person at the following Amherst Arts Night Plus venues:
- Amherst Town Hall Gallery online digital exhibits
- The Burnett Gallery online virtual exhibits
- Emily Dickinson Museum virtual events
- Gallery A3 window exhibits
- Hope & Feathers Framing gallery exhibits
- University Museum of Contemporary Art
We will reach out to you again next spring.
We look forward to connecting with you once again in person. In the meantime, stay safe, and enjoy the holiday season.
